What Tydi uses

Updated October 8, 2026. Tydi splits a restaurant bill. Permissions are requested when you use the matching action.

Bills you enter

Restaurant names, diner labels, dish names, prices, tax, tip, meal time, and finished split summaries are part of the bill you create. A diner label belongs to that bill. It is not a contact list.

Camera

The camera opens after you tap Take Receipt Photo. The picture is the restaurant receipt for that bill. You still confirm every name and price. Tydi does not fill in a price that was not read.

Photo library

From Library lets you pick one receipt photo. Saving a styled summary adds that image to Photos only after you choose to save it. Replacing a receipt photo does not change dishes and amounts already on the bill.

Microphone

The microphone is used after you choose to record a voice note on a bill. The note is not turned into text and is not sent to a server. Home and History can play a note that is already there.

Reminders

If you turn on the unfinished-bill reminder, Tydi asks for permission to schedule a local reminder after you leave. The wait and the quiet hours can be customized after one Creation Credit unlocks that choice.

Tracking choice

Tydi may ask to use this device’s identifier to deliver personalized features and tune the app experience. You can decline and still use the bill splitter, including photos, voice notes, reminders, and saving a split.

Purchases

Creation Credit purchases are processed by Apple. One credit saves a finished copy of your own bill. One credit unlocks custom reminder hours, once. Sample bills and opening a saved split again do not use a credit. Tydi does not collect the money diners owe each other.

Clear All Data

Clear All Data, after a second confirmation, removes bills, receipt photos, finished splits, unused credits, and preferences from the app.
